America's Most Wanted has been praised by law
enforcement officials, victims of crime, viewers, and critics; even by the President of the United States.
Thousands of lives have been changed since the first episode of America's Most Wanted
appeared on FOX more than 9 years ago. Long considered the pioneer of programs which enlist the public's help in
solving crimes, to date America's Most Wanted has helped capture more than 400
fugitives. Among those captured, nine were fugitives from the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list and 10 were from the U.S.
Marshals Service's Top Fifteen list. Viewers with tips on the location of fugitives are asked to call the toll-free
America's Most Wanted Hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV. Built on partnerships with law
enforcement officials and the public, the show features reenactments of crimes based on police records, eyewitness
accounts and court testimony. It also presents news of recent captures, convictions and missing children cases,
along with reports on the nation's criminal justice system. America's Most Wanted
is broadcast from Washington, D.C. and is produced by STF Productions, Inc., a unit of Fox Television Stations,
Inc. Lance Heflin is the executive producer. The John Walsh Story |
